Detailed description - Time delay relay ERV-08M (0.1 s - 100 h), Un: 12-230 V AC/DC

The ERV-08M time relay is a universal delay relay designed to control delayed switching-on after power voltage is applied. It offers a wide time range from 0.1 seconds to 100 hours, a universal 12-230 V AC/DC power supply, simple operation and DIN rail mounting.

It is suitable for automation applications, controlling fans, motors, lighting, contactors, and other devices that require a delayed switch-on.

Control elements and functions

LED indication

• ON (red) - relay is powered

• OUT (green, steadily lit) - output relay is connected (contact 2-3 connected)

• OUT (green, flashing ) - countdown to switching is in progress

Time setting

The time relay allows for precise delay setting using two potentiometers:

1. Potentiometer "t" (0.1 to 10)
   - fine adjustment in % of total range
   - 0.1 = 1%, 10 = 100%.

2. Potentiometer "TS" - range selection:

   • A = 10 s

   • B = 100 s

   • C = 10 min

   • D = 100 min

   • E = 10 h

   • F = 100 h

Time change is activated the next time power is applied.

Switching function

1) ON Delay - delayed switch-on (terminals 2-3, NO)

• When the power supply is connected, the set time countdown begins.

• After the time has elapsed, the Out relay (RLY ) is activated - contact 2-3 (NO → COM) switches on.

2) OFF Delay using NC contact (terminals 2-1)

• Contact 2-1 (NC) is also switched on without a power supply.

• When power is connected, the countdown begins

• After the time has elapsed, contacts 1-2 open.

Usage

The ERV-08M timer relay is used for applications where delayed switch-on is required after an event:

• Fan turns on only after the light is switched on (toilet, bathroom).

• Lighting in the garage or hallway after opening the door

• Gradual starting of motors

• Delayed switching on of contactors

• Sequential switching of multiple circuits

• Delayed start of devices

The time counting starts each time power is supplied to the relay.
